As far as I can tell, today was a day meant to separate the bandwagon track fans from the die hards. While your shirt says "Pre Lives," you yourself might have looked dead from exhaustion had you watched all of the races held over the two-day meet (the number of races is just over three hundred). For a meet that was called an invitational, it was nice to see that they had invited everyone. With Valentine's Day being right around the corner, the organizers probably didn't have the heart to raise the qualifying standards. I jest, I jest. We actually love to see all the runners out there; it's what put us on the road in the first place. In a time when I worry that the sport is on the decline, it's nice that a venue has provided a showcase for so many athletes to compete--and there was some great competition. In the first heat of the mile, five guys went under four minutes! Nice work boys!
