The changes in the competition schedule were instituted by USATF as a precautionary measure due to the forecast for high temperatures this week.

The changes are as follows:

The Junior Men’s 10,000 meters has been moved to a 10 a.m. start on Saturday.

The Senior Men’s and Women’s 20k Racewalk has been combined into one race, to be contested Sundaymorning at 8 a.m.

The Senior Women’s 5,000 meters has been moved to a 10:20 a.m. start on Sunday.

The Senior Men’s 5,000 meters has been moved to a 10:45 a.m. start on Sunday.

The USATF Outdoor Championships begin today and run through Sunday. The four-day senior meet will choose the Team USA men’s and women’s rosters for the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, Aug. 22-30. The junior meet will select those athletes that will compete in the Pan American Junior Championships, July 31-Aug. 2, in Edmonton, Canada.
