Distance Races Moved Due to Forecast for High TemperaturesPress Release EUGENE, Ore. – Three distance races have been moved to late morning start times and the senior men’s and women’s 20K racewalk has been combined into one race at the 2015 USATF Outdoor Championships at historic Hayward Field. The changes in the competition schedule were instituted by USATF as a precautionary measure due to the forecast for high temperatures this week. The changes are as follows: The Junior Men’s 10,000 meters has been moved to a 10 a.m. start on Saturday. The Senior Men’s and Women’s 20k Racewalk has been combined into one race, to be contested Sundaymorning at 8 a.m. The Senior Women’s 5,000 meters has been moved to a 10:20 a.m. start on Sunday. The Senior Men’s 5,000 meters has been moved to a 10:45 a.m. start on Sunday. The USATF Outdoor Championships begin today and run through Sunday. The four-day senior meet will choose the Team USA men’s and women’s rosters for the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, Aug. 22-30. The junior meet will select those athletes that will compete in the Pan American Junior Championships, July 31-Aug. 2, in Edmonton, Canada. More news |
